I simply believe in general, you can’t say “it is already much more pleasant,” but rather “I find it much more pleasant.” It’s a matter of taste, like, for example, an open vs. a closed kitchen. There are strong arguments for both forms here as well, yet in new buildings today, both certainly occur about equally often; at least you often see both, maybe even the open kitchen more frequently today. Here too, the question is which priorities you set: odor not throughout the whole house vs. communication while cooking.

It’s the same with the stairs. Privacy vs. always having to go through the cluttered hallway. The living-dining room is generally the space for everyone; privacy is found in the bedrooms. I don’t see a great necessity to get completely privately from the front door to the bedroom. Our children’s friends have to be okay with just briefly saying hello to us :p.

I already said this again and again here in the thread about a year ago, that there are simply different views on certain topics and that’s totally fine. Much less privacy for me, by the way, would be: the bathtub in the bedroom, and you do see that occasionally ;).

I would have made that a patio door – we often go from the kitchen to the terrace to take something out (also plates, food), so this way you always have to take a detour through the dining area. But of course, it also works as a pass-through. Otherwise, very nice design. The seating window will definitely be great.

Very well said. And with the first house, things will surely never be perfect. Not least because views and demands change over time. I would also do some things differently now because other things have simply become important to me.
