On which of these floor plans can we continue to build?

A gardener naturally has a sympathy bonus to begin with.
But no garden is worth ruining the house. Sometimes you can buy a garden nearby (cheap garden land). Building land, on the other hand, is unaffordable. Moreover, 1 m less depth won’t make the herb grow fatter (literally). But I have already written that.

Besides, you don’t have to go to 12 m depth. Only the 8 m width is decisive.

Then let her read along here. Maybe she will then understand the problem.

If I interpret the planned use correctly, we are basically talking about both a carport AND a garage at the same time here, because in this thread "garage" essentially means the enclosure for bicycles - lawnmower - garbage bins, which is sometimes attached to one end of a carport.

A driveway that is only as wide as the construction width is too narrow in front of such a thing if cars are supposed to be able to pass by without scratching. Sufficient width would result if one can bring oneself to the "narrow" house form.

And: lucky is the one who builds in a federal state where the nonsense is allowed directly on the street. Of course, I would prefer my own garden there rather than losing 5m depth at the back due to visitor parking spaces.

Two notes regarding the terrace: terraces (like living rooms) can certainly also be arranged on the end sides of houses, nothing has to be on a corner. And, the green part (aka garden) and the tiled part (aka terrace) have to agree on who wants which space - both cannot occupy the same space. Yet another third note: sun rays fall in straight lines, cake trays can also be carried around the corner.

Maybe ask "over there" whether Gerrit83 would also like to participate here or would have any objection to showing his design here.

The drafts from Gerrit were all 10x9 floor plans.

Here again are the two variants compared.
With the 8x11.25 variant, with a 2 m terrace at the front, there are still 7.5 m of green space towards the south; with the 10x9 variant and a 3.5 m terrace at the front, there would be about 8.3 m of green space.

With such a wide carport and a terrace behind it, I wonder if you don’t end up sitting a bit on a silver platter?
Of course, you can put a hedge or something else in between, but everyone from the turning area can look through the carport into the garden and onto the terrace.

Just copy it here for the common people. I don't think the forums are going to sue each other over copyright. And if they do - whatever.

What should the garden be able to do?

My parents have on just under 100 sqm their terrace, lawn, shrub hedge, perennial bed, garden pond, herb bed, 1 fruit tree, 1 raised bed for tomatoes/zucchini, a garden house with a mini fridge, lawn mower, garden tools and stuff + behind it the storage area for their trash bins (residual, yellow, bio). There is enough space for sun loungers, etc.

You have significantly more. Sure, you can’t really have a productive garden on that area. But ornamental garden + vegetable bed + pond (and if that goes away = more space for other things) + garden house + lawn area + nice shrubs are totally doable.

And the things that really need space don’t fit anyway, plus or minus 1m doesn’t make any difference. For that, they can work wonders inside the house.

I repeat my saying about priorities!
