Maria, our main contractor experienced the same, when except for the terrace door and back door everything floor-to-ceiling fell victim to my wife's suspicion of what that was supposed to be good for.

Opinions are so different... we find floor-to-ceiling windows absolutely brilliant. The sense of space is so much better, everything feels so much more open, inviting, ... simply more beautiful, both inside and out. Floor space... okay, we have enough of that anyway, but for example with plants: A large pot with a beautiful plant in front of a floor-to-ceiling window looks much nicer (both inside and outside) than a windowsill with small flowers... ; For children, floor-to-ceiling windows all around the house are a huge enrichment, they can look out everywhere without climbing... at least ours enjoy it very much (yes, they are allowed to go outside sometimes and not just look out ).

I agree with Maria and Nordlys very much. If you have the space, they make an impression. But the footprint is also worth more to me.

With floor-to-ceiling windows, I’m completely on board with Tego

Entrance from the garage into the utility room.. well, in the past you had the delivery entrance and overall it’s not impractical.... IF you have the corresponding space. So a sufficiently large utility room. In case of doubt, I would always forgo this door in favor of parking space. But it does have its charm, not having to drag the drink crates through the house into the utility room, but just opening one door and – voilà – out of the trunk, right to the place where the stuff is supposed to go.
For the normal dimensions of a single-family house utility room, I agree with Kaho: better to do without it.

We never buy crates, but six-packs. Then it’s not so bad.

If the floor space is enough for you, then it's fine. I like it too – as long as the desk with cable clutter doesn't end up in front of it someday. And actually, I see that as standard in new housing developments on the upper floors (or half-raised pleated blinds...).
