we are getting the standard door because we are not so tall that we would need 2.11, and it also costs more. Not much, but too much if it is not necessary. The ceiling height is automatically limited when the permissible eaves/ridge height no longer allows it. And at least in our semi-detached house, it would not make sense to ruin the floor plan for a nice staircase
What always caught my attention in the model homes: they all had more than normal ceiling height,
Maybe house providers should be forced to include a clause like this: "purchased as seen in the model home"
Unfortunately, that also rules out the 180° landing staircase for us, as it would simply take up too much space that is needed for more important things.
A straight stair still needs more space even in a single flight. Does that mean now it should be a winding staircase?
We are not getting a prefab house anyway, the experience still comes from our initial considerations. Yes, the staircase will be a plain, dull one, with a quarter turn at the top and bottom... well, whatever, I can live with that.

Then you just choose a nice wood color and/or a nice wall color behind the staircase – it’s all a matter of “perspective.”
If you value something like a nice ceiling height, then you simply cannot build there in this development area if it is specified. I don’t find the 2.45 meters, which is usually only achieved today, beautiful either. I find it really oppressive. Even just slightly above that, as is often built, would personally be too low for me. But we are also affected by Gründerzeit old building standards.
