I simply haven’t been able to train my cats. Especially when you’re not around, a cat quickly “forgets” its manners. I also need to have the kitchen closed off, but I need seating there for social cooking (minimum 4). I'm also not a fan of floor-to-ceiling windows. A few in the kitchen or at the dining table are good for an extra bright room, but in the other rooms I think it’s not necessary and, in my opinion, it only limits the placement options (sofa, for example).

Kaho674, the training is hardly the problem, the dogs as well as our 1 cat do not go to the kitchen or on it. The 2nd cat does, however, and with an open kitchen I would like to see you when you are sitting in the living room how you prevent him from jumping up in the kitchen. There are cats that accept that - but there are also those where it doesn't work. Not to mention the fur that sometimes flies around.

We are digressing, but none of my cats (there are certainly more than 10 now) ever dared to jump on the table in the kitchen. Of course, it also depends on whether there is something tasty around. For me, there's only vegetables - that's totally boring for the fur babies.

Not like that either. It makes a huge difference if there's no food there. And it's way too uncomfortable to sleep there. But the little rascal always lies in the guest bathroom sink. Really embarrassing when guests come unexpectedly.
