I belong more to the faction that finds it odd to place something in front of floor-to-ceiling windows.
So why do I even make a floor-to-ceiling window?
We actually only have floor-to-ceiling windows in the dining area and at the patio doors. But we know 100% that nothing will be placed there, except maybe a plant. In the living room, we also decided against it due to better furniture arrangement options. Even though it probably would have looked great, especially around the corner.
Children’s rooms, bedrooms, and the office have windows with regular sills so that you can put a desk there...
