There are so many possibilities. Take a look at polished screed or design floors. We decided on hot asphalt throughout the whole house. Seamless and very easy to maintain. But you have to plan well for that. Not much more expensive than screed + tiles. But it has to fit the house and you should like the look. I also always find parquet nice. Preferably over tiles.

For us, it is actually already clear in advance that only the entrance area, utility room, and bathrooms will be tiled. Everywhere else, parquet! Regarding parquet, however, I would like to raise an additional question: What about the "largest possible installation area" for floating installation? For laminate, for example, I know the recommendation that a maximum room length of 7-10 m should be installed without seams. For longer rooms (= larger areas), a separation should be inserted. Who can report from practical experience, especially regarding parquet installation? Could one, for example, lay about 45-50 sqm (L-shape) seamlessly and floating with parquet without any concerns? Thank you!

yes, I have also read about that. Unfortunately, it is not our case at all... The look just doesn’t suit us at all.

I always wonder if the "Vinyl is plastic and toxic" faction is like that with other topics too. No faux leather on the steering wheel, please only real. Only real wood kitchens. Full stainless steel refrigerator interior, etc. ... whether the glue or the foil under the covering is also compatible is not discussed anywhere here either...

Unfortunately, it cannot always be avoided. But especially for floors, there are so many better options and they are not more expensive. Also, the floor covers a lot of area and you come into contact with it daily.

This vinyl stuff is also sensitive; in our basement, a piece immediately broke off or the decor came loose. And it was expensive too; for a few euros more, there is real wood parquet.

But we also fell for it; the industry of course loves to sell this recycled plastic, high margins and they get rid of the old "stuff." As I said, we only did 3 rooms in the basement with it, I will rip it out soon...

Amazing..

Yes, why vinyl can be so expensive, I don't understand either. In my opinion, it should even be cheaper than laminate. The structure there is much more complicated.
