Which floors are suitable for single-family homes? What does the home-building elite recommend?

Much of it is perceived only unconsciously – and some of it makes the difference to a comfortable living atmosphere. Sound is part of it. Most modern living spaces have many hard and reflective surfaces. Lacquered surfaces on furniture, no curtains, polished walls. A few books, the couch, some potted plants, and framed pictures hardly help. If music is playing in the open-plan space at the same time, a child is playing intensely, and someone is working in the kitchen, then you have a noise backdrop that could be massively reduced, for example, by a wooden floor, heavy curtains, or a large carpet. And since there was a question here about what floors are recommended, I took the liberty of noting that tiles, although they seem more homely thanks to the wood imitation look and underfloor heating, still have some disadvantages.

I understand that. It can definitely be criticism, or rather that one explains their reasons precisely, absolutely, because that way the undecided person can best find out which model suits them best. It's like with WP or gas, wood or WPC, and so on. None is the best, but if I read why one person does it one way or why they don’t do it the other way, that can help me. Therefore, I always advocate for not speaking AGAINST the other but FOR your own and why I do it that way and not because the other is stupid. At least THAT helps ME the most; I find criticism or different thinking important, even in the construction forum. I had written that more generally and not because of you :D

The little ones don’t stay on the play rug. Everything around it is way too exciting.

I believe you can argue for and against every type of floor – for me personally, tiles are absolutely inhospitable and uncomfortable. The wood-look ones also feel so 2010. But yes, ultimately a completely subjective decision.

In the end, I always have to argue FOR or AGAINST something; otherwise, I don’t have my own opinion :)

If someone lists an argument, I like to refute it, or at least I try to.

As I already mentioned, everything is subjective—any feeling/appearance/preferences etc. can never be generalized. I think it’s good that the OP and everyone else gets shown different opinions. But I also find it good when people respond based on their own experiences, like you mentioned with WP/gas etc.

Otherwise, there is usually the risk here in the forum that the OP becomes too fixated on this opinion (e.g. acoustic tiles), the difference of which I would NEVER hear and which personally doesn’t bother me. If the OP is also not a “sound person,” they don’t have to take that argument to heart too much. I always find that very, very important in the forum and it has helped me a lot as well. However, if something is important to them (which, for example, doesn’t bother me as a tile enthusiast), then they definitely should NOT listen to me!! :D

For me personally, there is no perfect floor anyway… everything has pros and cons. Unfortunately! Otherwise, it would be so much easier :(

The measure is aimed exclusively at well-being. This can be impaired, for example, by reverberation caused by room size in combination with the reflective behavior of large surfaces. You surely know the acoustic difference between empty and furnished rooms. The large and certainly beautiful tiled area can create exactly such an acoustic room feeling due to the hard reflective properties. This is not everyone's thing and has nothing to do with gastronomy. Hence the tip. That sounds fair. That's a pity.

That may all be true – however, it neither contributes to my wellbeing nor makes it worse... In my opinion, there are too many possibilities to achieve nice room acoustics through curtains/rugs/etc. But as I said, it is certainly also a matter of personal preference, depending on how much value someone places on acoustics.

I know people who don't even hear the difference between a TV speaker and a soundbar (yes, I really am that "similar") – therefore, personally, I am not affected at all, nor would I ever hear a difference if I were sitting in a room with parquet flooring and 20 people or in a room with tiles and 20 people.

That is why everyone has to decide for themselves how important the acoustics are in relation to the choice of flooring.

It was not meant that I try to refute everything. Rather, I try to counter the other party’s argument in relation to myself if I don’t agree with it. That’s what I did :) This way, you create different opinions/impressions for clients who have not yet decided and are still facing the decision :)

But all good, such discussions also contribute to the OP having various impressions and being able to see what is important to them.

Yes... I find 450€ super fair!

Does anyone happen to know if there are price differences between 90x45cm and 60x60cm tiles – purely regarding labor or installation costs? Then I can possibly argue on-site if my contractor also wants to charge a surcharge here (planning 90x45 in the bathroom).
