[A somewhat older question but since there was no answer yet:
we have exposed screed in the "public area" (hallway, living room/kitchen/hall) and the rest tiled. Looking back, I would have preferred to do everything with exposed screed. Very pleasant to walk on barefoot and, in my opinion, simply beautiful to look at. We chose it in "white."

Advantages:
- Durable and lasts forever
- Easy to maintain
- Optimal for underfloor heating due to high thermal conductivity
- Individually designable
- "Modern" look
- Few joints and those few disappear with silicone in the matching color

Disadvantages:
- Not necessarily cheap
- Seamless repairs/touch-ups only conditionally possible
- The final look is only visible when it's finished, a very exact color tone or grain cannot be defined. The skill of the installer makes a big difference, especially when grinding/polishing.
- Echo can be an issue if there are only few sound-absorbing furniture, etc.

Unfortunately, I cannot share long-term experiences yet, we are just moving in.

The most important thing is that you like it ... maybe you have to get used to it, but looking at the last picture, as a layman I would think that the floor installer didn’t finish, and you had to move in :-)

There are different types of treatment, ours is sanded and sealed. For red wine, for example, you should wipe it up promptly to avoid stains, but you don’t have to panic and rush immediately. Since there are no joints, it doesn’t run anywhere in between.

For us, however, it already has a certain spotty character because we didn’t want it completely homogeneous. The white is streaked with slight beige tones, so new stains don’t show up so quickly.

Yes, I am aware that it’s not everyone’s thing. Although pictures do not do it justice; live, it’s noticeably less sterile due to the subtle pattern.

I can imagine that it looks different or warmer then ... do you have a photo?

It comes across fairly well here. I actually photographed the baseboards for approval by the OHL, or rather the silicone joint ;)

As the saying goes: There's no accounting for taste :D I wouldn't want it, but it only has to please you :)

We are currently making a last-minute switch from a design floor to parquet. Does anyone have a tip for a good and at least comparatively affordable country house plank parquet (oak)? The selection is almost endless, but maybe someone has already found a good floor and dealer?
