Laminate - why is it so unpopular among sellers?

But laminate remains a photo on plastic... you can discuss it however you want, that doesn’t change.
We have had high-quality parquet in the children's room for 3.5 years. Yes, there are small dents, but you really have to look for them.
And as already said, there is not only oak but also bamboo, for example. Have fun trying to "break" that.
I don’t understand why everyone wants to save money at the end. You don’t do that with tools either, but those are not used daily....

Laminate always feels cold because the surface is plastic. In contrast, parquet and bamboo also feel warm even when there is no underfloor heating. Children sit on the floor a lot, so you will pretty quickly put a carpet on the laminate to keep it comfortable for the child. I also think that parquet and bamboo have the great advantage that scratches on the surface are not a big deal. With a surface made of "wood", scratches are simply patina, you don't even perceive them as scratches. A scratch on laminate, on the other hand, looks really stupid, you notice it immediately.

Since I belong to the classic throwaway society, I always look forward to the opportunity to get something new. After 10 years, I will no longer be able to see our laminate. How nice, then I can get something new without feeling guilty.

Even if you often replaced parquet...... It is warmer (even with underfloor heating laminate is not comfortable), looks more high-quality and the feel is better. Especially great for children of course (carpet maybe even better, but personally I don’t like the look at all). Those who value that should buy parquet, those who don’t care should just buy laminate and save the money.

I don’t find parquet warmer, nor do I find the texture better. That’s probably a matter of taste. Real warmth would be cork. Even though you can’t really see it in the photo, it looks like wood (the lighting is unfavorable). And I don’t have a carpet on the laminate, my children find it warm enough. from unterwegs

Since everyone forms their own opinion on the subject, here is mine:

I have already "furnished" everything. Laminate, tiles, floorboards, floating click parquet, glued strip parquet, and vinyl.

Parquet unfortunately always got damaged. The not completely sealed planter that leaked into the floor over months, the spilled glass of water that evaporated too slowly on the runner and left stains, and of course all the scratches from office chairs and furniture. Sanding and sealing/varnishing unfortunately costs as much as a new floor. Therefore, parquet is unfortunately out.

The floorboards (now sanded for the third time) are great and surprisingly resistant to moisture (although I wouldn’t want to know what the insulation underneath looks like...). But either it is affordable, then the wood is too soft, or it is ridiculously expensive. Light wood also "loses" a lot. Therefore, it will never be used again.

I only like tiles in the bathroom.

Proper laminate is durable and goes into the wardrobe, storage room, maybe the basement. Unfortunately, it is much colder and louder than vinyl. And it’s about the noise created between shoe and floor. Underlay doesn’t change that, unless it is placed ON TOP of the floor.

Therefore, for a few years now I have only had vinyl. And precisely because it was in the headlines a few years ago due to plasticizers, a lot has happened and many floors have been tested. So you can choose a clean one.
