In summer, the tiles are already quite cold underfoot for this reason – especially in spring/autumn, when the heating is not yet or no longer on.
oh good argument! I hadn’t even thought about that. On the other hand, the coolness in midsummer might actually be quite pleasant. :D
But the question of tiles doesn’t even come up for us because we don’t want tiles. My better half only finds tiles acceptable in the bathroom. I’m more interested in whether floating installation versus glued down makes a big difference with underfloor heating.
Whether it will then be real wood or plastic, I would only decide after that, or decide separately for each room.
As
already rightly pointed out, it’s an expensive setup for a child's room where building blocks often get hammered into the floor, not necessarily the "way to go."
