I have heard about vacuum robots quite often now... Maybe I'll wish for one as a housewarming gift when I move in.

Vinyl is out of the question for us. It contains plasticizers, and I won't have them in the house as long as our babies still like to put everything in their mouths.

It was available in different versions from 20 € to 80 €, the cheap one didn’t have our color and probably was not as grippy as ours. Just have a look at Teppich Kibek or similar stores and take some home. Important for carpet is that it is anti-static, suitable for underfloor heating, and not easily flammable. But I think they all somehow had the same criteria.

And by the way, sarcasm is also my thing: I also won’t have that artificial clattering laminate or that chemical vinyl in the house. And back in the day, when there were only carpets in the bedrooms and stone floors in the living rooms, everyone was healthier than today!

Regards, Yvonne

Quality simply has its price – whether carpet, vinyl, parquet, etc.
By the way, there is also vinyl with phthalate-free plasticizers. The chemistry is then supposed to be comparable to baby toys made of plastic. But we still preferred parquet and somewhat natural building materials

As Nordanny already wrote, there are indeed phthalate-free vinyl products. Apart from that, one must be aware that with many "natural" floor coverings, you don't actually come into contact with the "natural product," but rather with the sealing layer! Unless you have oiled parquet that is treated only with natural oils. That comes with a price and maintenance requirements. Natural stone tiles are also not exactly cheap, but on the other hand not as demanding in terms of care...

But that does not change the fact that it is plastic.

Which doesn’t have to be a disadvantage

But I know, there is a lot of ideology involved in this topic...

Fortunately, nowadays everyone can choose freely from a huge range!
