(many) plants help with acoustics. Just like pictures and (filled) bookshelves. Basically, anything that is not smooth and hard.

I would indeed question for myself as the builder what says. If one then comes to a different conclusion for oneself, that is also fine, but such "criticism" can lead to a more error-free result if it causes one to discover something that one had never or perhaps not sufficiently paid attention to before. How often does one (at least I) experience that one unfortunately only notices something afterwards, once it has happened. Sound is also perceived differently, even for the same person in a different environment.

Exactly why Myrna_Loy would never lay tiles – but I would. As you say, it is always perceived differently anyway :) Ultimately, this is not "criticism" but simply a different opinion or different preferences when it comes to floors :)

OT, a multipurpose room as the center of the house and meeting place for the family should also have a good TV, streaming services, and music system, or do you always go to the basement for the home theater.

If I need cinema sound, I honestly go to the cinema.

No, seriously, I don’t place much value on sound itself... a soundbar is completely sufficient for me, you definitely won’t hear a difference between tiles and parquet. Ultimately, the furnishings are also decisive.

As I said, for perfect 5.1 sound with heavy bass boxes etc., it can certainly "make a difference."

But for me personally, that would never be a criterion to decide for or against a floor.

that's a good thing, but you are only your own standard
