At least on our side of the street, chain link fences are prohibited. Otherwise, the fence facing the street may be a maximum of 1.30m high. The concrete posts 1.40m :-) It doesn’t matter on the sides, but at least the neighbor must be informed. That’s why you really have to look closely.

Exactly, so your property does not border the country road, but rather the driveway that belongs to your municipality. On your property, you can (according to the specifications of development or other plans or other requirements) pave it yourself or have it done.

I am always glad that we don’t have a development plan and such regulations. It’s quite harsh to forbid the cheapest fence. What kind of fence is allowed then?

Costs are exploding everywhere right now. One should consider a construction stop or possibly try to resell the construction contract at a loss. Better than facing insolvency and debt collection agencies soon.

I am sometimes really speechless when I read such threads. Did I understand that correctly, we are talking about 4,600 EUR net household income + 500 EUR rental income? 720 EUR remain "only" for leisure? I know people who have that after deducting the cold rent for the month...

Painter 10k? Do it yourself. Leave out the photovoltaic system, definitely the storage. Leave out the garage, you don’t need it. Cars are built to stand outside in wind and weather. If money is left over, build a carport.

Then you have 50,000 EUR more in hand.

Don’t take it the wrong way or misunderstand. But I don’t understand how you can be afraid of going broke and then treat yourself to a painter, photovoltaic, and a garage... Finish building the house so you can live in it...

Give up now and sell everything? I thought about that too, at the beginning of the year, when suddenly 50,000 EUR more was on the clock than calculated. You will fall over what the bank alone demands from you as a prepayment penalty if you want to repay the loan in one go...

And what will you do with the shell then? You say the land belongs to the family... are you allowed to sell it? Should the shell remain and decay?

PS: And you probably already have contracts with the tradesmen? They also want money from you if you cancel. Because even if the craftsman is fully booked, he had to reject another job for your order. This causes him real damage, which he absolutely wants to be compensated for.

If you really can’t do anything yourself, not even screw a mailbox somewhere, then that will indeed just be the beginning.

Don’t take it personally, you give the impression you’re seeking attention by constantly emphasizing how unbelievably much you pay for your place... and of course that you can pay it ;)

But that helps little in such threads, since people are looking for a realistic assessment of how much money is really needed if you can do a lot yourself.
The “I paid €32,000” “Pah, I paid €60,000” “That’s child’s play, my rainwater tank alone costs €25,000” debate can happen somewhere else, right?

PS:
I’m sure for a driveway on the highway people pay six figures... but hardly anyone has that, so it’s irrelevant for this debate.
