House construction too expensive - Stop building?

We are now on vacation for 3 weeks! Italy! Throwing the money around. Living on the edge. Should I take 6 or 12 shirts??

my situation is a bit different though ...
Loan contract in 06/21 for 300k at 1.15% concluded ... I am the sole borrower and had a fixed price of 252k for the house ... the rest was intended as a buffer for earthworks and outdoor facilities ... equity still available for kitchen/furniture, upgrades and incidental building costs ... the plot of land was also already available ... since 05/22 I have been on maternity/parental leave ... since 06/22 I have been paying not only the regular interest but also commitment interest ... the loan is only a little over 50% disbursed ... so far I have received neither parental allowance nor child benefit ... yesterday additionally a rent increase of 50 euros arrived ... :-/

due to additional costs from upgrades (especially in the sanitary area) and increased house connection costs, the loan for the house will be sufficient, but for the outdoor facilities of the nearly 1500sqm plot I also see a bleak future, since the equity is now melting away (so much for babies being the cheapest kids :-p) ...

parental leave had the land included in the financing and it would have been quite manageable ... however, interest, commitment interest and rent during parental leave were not considered because I did not expect to get pregnant so quickly at all (pretty naive ;)) ...
so I currently have actual existential fears in part, since even with payment of parental allowance not all costs can be covered by the ongoing payments ...
my partner supports me, but financial dependence is also a matter I personally struggle with ... :(

but in my case it is for a limited time and by the end of the year the ordeal will hopefully be over and we will be moved into the little house :-p

and financially everything is within limits with you ... you will manage and be happy in your great house ... I am quite sure of that :)

Leave out the storage for the photovoltaic. You don't necessarily need it. It saves you about 10k€.

Why do you think we don't need it? With a heat pump, it surely makes sense, or am I mistaken?

For everyday use, a pair of closed shoes and a pair of sandals are enough (yes, the dress code for IT people is somewhat casual and I don't have any client appointments).

Well. For hygiene reasons, you should let shoes rest for a day, so you switch to a second pair. But probably that doesn't exist anymore these days, now it's called Sagrotan :p

The more "large consumers" (WP, electric car, etc.) you have, the less worthwhile the storage is. In summer it won't empty, and in winter it won't fill or is not enough. We needed storage because of KfW40+, and took the smallest possible with 5.1kWh, as it was basically paid for by KfW. Otherwise, the kWh of storage is still more expensive than the kWh from the supplier. Make sure that your WP heats water during the day, schedule your consumption during sunny times, and save the money and storage for later!
