I see it the same way. That is less than 1/3 of the income. At the bank, they also serve the expensive chocolate cookies with the coffee during the conversation :D

Yeah, but you’d have to have really done the math badly or gotten really bad advice.

Specifically, a household net income of €4,600 with 2 adults and 1 child under 14 years old is already within the top 25% of the population.

However, the cost estimation is really difficult because there is no general contractor who has given a fixed price. That is why the urgent advice is to cancel everything that is not absolutely necessary for moving in.

Because €13,000 for a kitchen is... doable... but it will then be something quite simple.

at my house. Start of earthworks. After the geological report it turned out there used to be a gravel pit. Additional costs for necessary well rings +€60,000. Disposal of hazardous waste landfill +€35,000 Additional costs for thicker necessary floor slab +€17,000. More steel, better steel, etc. +€10,000. Additional costs just for the earthworks. Things like this can add up quickly,

The OP is out of that level! The shell is standing! Just read and think a bit And don’t project your situation onto others. I’m sorry for you.

That was the case for me. There is so much more to come. €200,000 in additional costs is nothing.

So that there is no misunderstanding. I see it the same way and we actually don’t have significantly more than this 4,600 EUR fixed per month... But it wasn’t said how much is being repaid, right?

With a 1,200 EUR installment for 400k and 1.2%, 2.4% is being repaid. That’s a 33.8 year term. Not impossible... but also nothing that makes the bank do cartwheels. They have other regulars where the cookies come out ;)
