It was of course slightly exaggerated…..but there was once someone who wore the same jackets and shoes for 15 years.

100€ is 50€ per person. You can’t even get a decent shirt for that…

Not per person. You also have to give some to your wife!

I was once admonished by someone when I listed the purpose of a wardrobe (tons of shoes) and that person said they had _one_ pair and wore it every day… a second pair was not necessary

100€ per month is 1200€ per year.

If I calculate that for us over a 4-year period, because a piece of clothing should last at least that long, we can easily manage with that. Sure, the year when we need new shoes AND a new winter jacket twice will be more expensive. The next one then cheaper.

What I find expandable are 800€ for food/drinks/drugstore per month, or are diapers included in that? In that case, it would be great.

Everyday clothing is usually not a problem. Only when mountaineering does she damage her expensive special clothes more often (stepping crampons into her pants, scraping along rocks somewhere...), good that with a toddler now there’s not that much going on, that saves a lot of money ;) For everyday life, one pair of closed shoes and one pair of sandals are enough (yes, the dress code for IT people is somewhat casual and I don’t have customer appointments). But for that you still have hiking boots, mountaineering boots, ski boots, ski touring boots, 5 pairs of climbing shoes,...

Some people should just do the math properly and add up ALL expenses… Nobody has hobbies either…etc. etc.

But whatever…
