- The shower on the upper floor seems pretty puny to me, but maybe it just looks that way next to the large sauna?
Is there a lounge chair marked in the bathroom? Some bathtub manufacturers offer cushions to turn the bathtub into a lounge. Not exactly cheap, but very stylish (in my opinion) and you could save the lounge chair that is a bit in the way
We haven’t given much thought to the size of the shower and sauna yet; we thought we could do that later. Both were probably just drawn in as placeholders by the planner since we haven’t discussed the measurements. The lounge chair is also not our design; it’s only in the drawing. Thanks for the tip about the cushions, I didn’t know that but will keep it in mind.
- How is the kitchen planned? Too bad you don’t want it open; for example, you could make it separable with sliding doors. I find the way to the dining table and terrace very far.
The kitchen plan has not been made yet either. There definitely won’t be a kitchen island; I want “empty space” in the middle. The kitchen does not have a very high priority for me. I have the impression that “some” kitchen can be fitted in once the connections are in place. What’s important to me is that the sink is not under the window. I want the window to be freely accessible, if possible.
We only use the dining table for eating when we have a larger number of guests; then I use a serving cart or there is a buffet.
- What is the shower on the ground floor for?
That is supposed to be the shower for overnight guests, who hopefully sleep on the sofa in the living room and not somewhere upstairs.
- Wouldn’t it be more practical to do the laundry upstairs? Especially in old age, it can be difficult to dangerous to carry the laundry basket up and down the stairs?
Thanks also for this hint. The washing machine in the upstairs bathroom is also a good option. My husband wanted it in the utility room, but I would also like it in the upstairs bathroom.
The house is not designed for old age. When we get older, according to our current plan, we will move into an accessible ground-floor apartment with a small garden.
