I don't like it either, but tastes are just different. Not everyone likes design from the 3rd millennium and sticks to the country house style. But the house is simply not functional. I won't list it again, but constantly walking past shoes, every hallway in the house... washing downstairs, the tightness by the bed promises broken little toes, etc. I honestly thought that reading along and participating in the discussions would have borne some fruit

I can absolutely understand that this house seems old-fashioned, boring, etc. I would rather use the term "nostalgic," that is at least my desired goal, which maybe is not achievable. I harbor no desire to be even the slightest bit original. And walking to the carport, even if it rains or in winter, will delight me if it is a nicely designed path. I prefer that over going from a garage (I usually don’t like garages either inside or outside) into the house. Maybe I would like a garage that looks like a Victorian conservatory.

I like that it generally meets my requirements. Inside, it will become nice through my personal design, I know that. Outside, it should be pleasing. I have inserted a photo above showing roughly how I imagine it, just a bit smaller, without gables, with more patio doors.

What just occurs to me: Are carports allowed to be located directly on the street? Often a minimum distance of 5m is required.

So what if the architect doesn't know that? Although calling this design "by an architect" is an insult. Here in our municipality, you are allowed to build 9 meters long and 3 meters high on the boundary. The 5 meters also apply here to us. But that only applies to garage driveways.

To the border with the neighbor yes, but I mean the border to the street.
