Yes, you are right. That's probably why no one has it. We keep it modest as well.

Thank you for the suggestion. It will probably be something along those lines. I liked the semi-circular shape because, as is well known, I find round shapes more beautiful than angular ones. I did not find a wooden carport with a semi-circular arch without additional legs on the internet; wooden carports always have legs somewhere.

Thank you for the detailed note. I am curious what will come of it and will keep you updated.

I usually assume that there are good reasons for regulations and laws, even if they are not immediately or fully apparent to me. You have already given a good reason above.

Among other reasons, it is because we are building the house because we need somewhere to live and we could not find any other suitable investment opportunity for us. Besides, I have a good feeling about the planning. Normally, I don't listen to my feelings so much, but the house will be "cozy" and fit both of us in the here and now. Many practical considerations play no role for me at all. For example, how quickly I get from the car to the house without getting wet, or whether I have short distances (what speaks against longer distances if you take the time to enjoy a picture or a plant along the longer way?). We had four floors so far and now only two, which is already an improvement for me. The distance from the kitchen to the dining table is also not relevant to me. The bedroom will only contain a bed, pictures, and a plant, so it does not have to be much bigger. The bathroom with the sauna, which I already mentioned, is a compromise due to the marriage. Maybe I am really undemanding.

From my point of view, it will be nice, also thanks to the helpful hints here in the forum. Individually, it does not have to be, why should it.

I like to have a lot in common with you. But not that, because I was not relocated but worked and argued for years to be able to move here. It is absolutely wonderful here, but please don’t tell anyone, otherwise it will get too crowded here.

Other rooms are usually private by nature. In the kitchen, sometimes something falls out of my hand and it would make me nervous if people watch me around.

It will be a standard L-shaped kitchen. Fronts Bodbyn from Ikea. I like it and it doesn’t have to be more than liked.

Classical music is something I want to share with other people. At my previous place of residence, I went to a concert, opera, or ballet performance 1-3 times a week. The effect of music in a concert hall is naturally very different; a private music room cannot compare, which is why I don’t want it either.

I do not want a conservatory in or on such a small house. I live here in the middle of the new lake district and will either be outside or in a concert hall.

However, I would disagree with that. With appropriate room equipment, system, and recording, one can create the same impression purely auditorily. But it seems you are more concerned with the overall atmosphere, and that is certainly different in a concert hall and is difficult to simulate.
