The main thing is that and her husband feel comfortable in their house later.

I see you built on a completely different level than we did, and I think that’s great. If I remember correctly, I have seen a photo of your house once before and was impressed by its beauty and elegance, even though it is almost exactly the opposite of what I imagine. An interesting conflict.
I ask for your understanding that I simply cannot deal with details regarding wardrobe planning right now. I just don’t have enough energy for that. I would need weeks or months just for the wardrobe alone, especially since I assume when I finally stand in the room, I will find an appealing solution that suits us, even if that should be hooks on the domestic hot water tank door. But there are other alternatives, under the stairs. Or indeed a wall wardrobe in the hallway. I have very beautiful bamboo shoe cabinets that are delicate and filigree, which I could still put in the hallway if I want. I see possibilities but cannot and do not want to commit yet.
Regarding, for example, the wardrobe: It was a separate niche in the original standard plan, which we waived in favor of the shower in the bathroom. But I would not have used this niche as a wardrobe anyway, but would have hung a picture there.

Thank you for the photo. It is an elegant, beautiful solution, but for me personally it would be too much "built-in" and too obviously "practical." But definitely nice, no question. In this case, I would prefer a solution where the cabinets look like the surrounding wallpaper so that the cabinets are almost invisible. Only, what do you do if you don’t have the space for that? Everything I spend on extra space for a wardrobe in the hall is missing either in the hallway or in one of the adjacent rooms. But you still gave me a good idea. Maybe I can find a compromise between your photo and my idea of an invisible wardrobe, if any.

That will not depend on the house but on me and my husband. And we certainly will.

I think so too. And I have no other claim. What is important to me I have already explained and will implement. And I will be able to live well with the actual or supposed defects because for me they are not defects but possibly tiny shortcomings that I "buy" in favor of advantages important to me or my husband elsewhere. May I ask how big your (lower?) hallway is and how many people live in your house?
