Not necessarily, we basically have a splash guard strip under the stone slabs. Although it initially caused some concerns for the general contractor, water absolutely cannot remain standing. The lift-and-slide door has a small threshold of, I believe, 2.5 cm in height and about 10 cm in depth. It is walkable and passable. If you are not moving in as a wheelchair user, it works without an expensive recessed track.

this is how we solved it. The HSE has "almost" no threshold. The left element (double door) has a very small one. But we hardly ever go out there. The landscape gardener installed two drains in front of it and then immediately laid the terrace slabs next to them.

phew, that actually sounds very professional, I think it will take quite a while until I fully understand it! I think I will get back to this in a relevant thread as soon as it becomes necessary for me. Until then, I’m sure I will have made progress regarding the ground. But I’m almost certain it will be wood, that fits best since we want to run the terrace around two sides of the house and with the slope it might then look a bit like a jetty, which we would like very much.

Unfortunately, I have only seen very few pictures of hampshire's house, so I currently don't exactly know what you mean :confused:. Are there more concentrated pictures of him? Occasionally I have discovered some photos, but it would be very time-consuming or impossible to find those posts again.
He has an incredibly great house, that stuck with me...
