House and floor plan planning - First architect's plan is available

I think it's great to simply build for 2 people and only for one more phase of life, because that can bring a lot of joy. You can safely forget about the resale value if you have no obligations. You won’t take anything with you anyway. So the best conditions to fulfill a small dream. You have a clear idea of the exterior and conditions for the interior (separated areas). That it’s not my thing doesn’t matter. If you can still change things on the inside, then imagine a few typical days of your life in the new house in your mind. Go through the walking routes. Think about where you like to be together and where each of you is on your own. For example, think about playing at the dining table. How should the view outside be? How is coziness created? How far do you want to walk to get something to drink? Think about a sauna day. For example, where do you sit or lie during a sauna break? Should it be different in summer than in winter? What about hobbies... These are the thoughts that help further and show you whether everything really fits or if you still have the possibility to change things inside. There is so much more possible for you/you both with the same budget, I’m sure of that.

The washing machine was drawn in there by the architect, we will probably place it in the upstairs bathroom.

As far as I have followed, someone suggested doing the laundry on the upper floor. However, of course it is meant to plan a small utility room on the upper floor. But these explanations did not come about at all, since the “(plan differently)” was always blocked by the original poster right away. Only later did the “I'll include the laundry on the upper floor” come... Hardly anyone with an open mind means the loud washing machine in the wellness bathroom.

Wellness bathroom, well ... with a shower that's almost around the corner, like an ambush just before Siberia ... well, I don't know ... I don't think you can pretty that up with a few little plants and a bit of fairy dust.

Two more thoughts: if the house is supposed to be an investment, then of course I pay attention to the resale value. The statements are contradictory for me in that regard.

And as it is, I would look for a used property. Providing alternative hooks for a wardrobe that is too small, while all options are still open for the latter, makes me think that an existing property might be a better fit for you.

They are not lies. They are rather misunderstandings or points that my husband and I wanted to keep open. Since we have not yet decided whether to place the washing machine downstairs or upstairs, the architect has drawn it as most people do. I find that acceptable as long as we have water connections in both places. It is important for us to have a high-voltage connection in the utility room and the upper bathroom, as we have already commissioned. Also an additional drain in the utility room, which has already been taken into account. Actually, I do not know exactly at which phase of the construction project the various connections and their locations are determined, but to my knowledge there is a separate plan for that, which is yet to be finalized.
