Congratulations! Manomano, this has become a major project. It looks like a hillside house.
Once you have settled in, could you please summarize the key points (sqm, granny flat, budget) again?
Thank you very much, we knew it would be big. We only learned that we had no idea about the dimensions.
The budget was ridiculously exceeded. The Ukraine crisis, energy crisis, inflation danced a waltz with botched work, poor planning, theft, and poor execution. Some
extra wishes, of course, also made a difference. What was all that? For example, slightly higher rooms required bigger windows and taller doors, or the decision to build the house so high into the hillside to have the view and privacy. 24 cm limestone walls to keep the house very quiet even with lots of children. We had air conditioners installed in the bedrooms upstairs and in the open living-dining area, not to mention the bathrooms.
In total, it is about 300 m2. Just under 80 m2 each for the two-room granny flat where the parents-in-law live, and the basement including utility room and WC, another 150 m2 for the remaining 2 floors, and about 150 m2 for the 3 terraces. On the roof there is a 12 kWp photovoltaic system with storage, the whole thing is heated with a Viessmann air-to-water heat pump. Everything is working fine at the moment.
