Single-family house with a granny flat & garage

This thing with the long way to the pantry is also causing me headaches. Unfortunately, we haven't come up with the "ultimate solution" here yet. I would, however, be reluctant to swap the living room & kitchen for several reasons. (no view from the kitchen to the driveway, worse access to the garden, etc.)

Why? You actually have. The least time is spent at the sink, rather the position shown in the drawing, namely at the work and cooking island. Then you would have a wonderful view over the dining table towards the driveway, diagonally into the west garden. Just try it out (make a sketch)

No, definitely not.

Our built-in wardrobe has exactly the same fronts on the back as on the front and on the visible side.

Only the fronts on the back are larger than on the front because we don't have doors there. If you're interested, I can take one or two pictures this evening and send them to you.

Regarding the topic of age: Unfortunately, I have already had the experience that such impairments can come very quickly and unexpectedly. That is why we have paid special attention to some things, for example, the possibility of setting up a bedroom on the ground floor. Of course, one cannot prepare for every ailment that might possibly occur.
We simply try to keep as many options open as possible.

For the granny flat, the utility room could be eliminated. So on the north side of the current utility room (to the right when entering), a larger cabinet as storage. Then a kitchen in an L-shape, so that the short leg of the L is somewhat below the current stove section. The wall there must of course be removed, while I would keep the short wall section directly to the right of the entrance door with the wardrobe. Then make the previous "storage" room accessible from outside and designate it as a cellar/storage room for the granny flat; separate it from the rest of the cellar by omitting the interior door.

unfortunately, it is not possible to make the room "Vorrat" accessible from the outside due to the terrain.
You can see this quite well on the "Ansicht Nord".

What I wouldn't like about the separate apartment is that there is no terrace access, if I looked correctly. Who is the target group for the separate apartment?
