If you look at post 166, both floor plans are now more or less oriented north. I always find that easier for "thinking" .

In any case, the carport in the east (as noted by Yvonne), i.e. towards the street, is rather not the option.

They were almost oriented north in 166, not now (?)

I also find it easier, and early on in this thread I oriented two drafts - and then funny enough the OP came up with the remark that in between he had changed the plot

Exactly .. in post 166 among others I have, besides my (from the start approximately aligned floor plan) also turned and aligned Zizzi’s floor plan. You can then simply compare better. YPG’s designs are still like in the initial post.

It is pointless and fussing to argue about 10 degrees or so. The plot could also have a completely different orientation, then you keep that in mind and still have the option to position windows differently. Be that as it may: shame on me - I don't necessarily see the carport on the long side of the corner bungalow if the house calls for a different position. The whole must be right.

I agree with that. However, I can’t make sense of the southwest orientation of the floor plan and the west orientation of the site plan in #178.

Yes, that’s okay – it’s just that rotating the floor plan to southwest doesn’t quite make sense to me (?)

Unfortunately, you don’t understand that. It depends on the size of the living area on one floor. If you have a two-story house, it is not as large on the ground floor or upper floor as a bungalow, and of course every room has at least one exterior wall. Why don’t you see a square bungalow with outer dimensions of e.g. 18m x 18m?
If someone doesn’t understand, you can explain it to them, but if he or she doesn’t want to understand, it’s best to save the explanation. I didn’t mean that to sound stupid. [emoji6]
