I cannot understand why vinyl is "condemned." Many discussions here also show a high level of interest. Especially homeowners with a strong interest in a very efficient design of underfloor heating with a maximum flow temperature (VLT) of 29 - 31° will more likely achieve their goal with vinyl than with 8 mm parquet and impact sound insulation.

Vinyl can probably only show its advantages if it is glued down, right?

Because the vinyl is very thin then and the heat from the underfloor heating transfers quickly and well, right?

With click vinyl, vinyl then no longer has any real advantages compared to laminate?

What about water resistance with pets? Vinyl is clearly at an advantage there.

For example, if a dog is eating on the floor and drools a lot or in puppy age sometimes messes somewhere.

You can’t always clean it up immediately 100%, sometimes you’re not there or you just notice it later.

You won't notice any difference between the floor coverings. And fast is definitely not a thing with underfloor heating. You won't feel the 30 degrees flow temperature on your feet in winter. A plastic floor actually has an advantage there. But laying plastic just for such a case? It's about the same as walking around all year outdoors in a raincoat because it might rain. During puppy age you'll have to take time off anyway and watch the animal around the clock – and then you'll be done with training quickly and the dog will pee outside. Besides, you have tiles on the ground floor anyway. What is a dog doing on the upper floor? Nothing. Also, stairs are not good for big dogs at all. You're looking for floors for the bedroom and children's room. (At least) no dog should go in there.

Do you have dogs yourself?

Everyone does it differently
For example, at night the dog is of course allowed to come upstairs with us and even into the bedroom

Dogs are pack animals and it would be animal cruelty (especially during puppyhood) to leave the dog alone downstairs at night

Yes, housetraining usually goes quite quickly but there can always be setbacks and some dogs drool a lot and if that were to damage the floor or cause permanent damage it would be annoying

and the few steps he has to climb in a single-family house are absolutely no problem (not even during puppyhood)

But that’s not the point here

So for the underfloor heating it’s basically irrelevant which floor we choose, we won’t notice any difference?

How sensitive is parquet or laminate to moisture?

Yep. From the little puppy on. You couldn't tell on the parquet (oak). Whether Bernese or (but not the Neufi for that long).

I agree with you during puppyhood. That's why you plan a vacation and sleep downstairs with the dog. We did it that way too. But later a) it’s not good for the hips of many large dogs (who often voluntarily don’t want to climb stairs) and b) it’s a matter of training. Of course, everyone can do it however they want, but we didn’t want slobber, hair, etc. in our bedroom or the children’s rooms.

Correct.

Parquet will eventually swell. Laminate depending on the core material as well. But laminate then looks like it should be thrown away, parquet not. I now even have parquet in the kitchen in the second property. Completely unproblematic, parquet also tolerates some mess.

As I said, everyone allows it differently with the dogs. It should also not be an attack or accusation. Beautiful dogs they are! But in my opinion, the few steps don't matter and we are not forcing him either. Large dogs also live very old without problems in apartment buildings on the 1st or 2nd floor. What does it mean that parquet will eventually swell? After what time would it start? 2 minutes are probably not a problem. Are 10 minutes still okay? Or 30 or 60 minutes? May I ask where you bought your parquet for 30€/sqm? Visually we also find it very nice.
