We have a - possibly suboptimally installed - underfloor heating from 2001. Also in the bedrooms and children's rooms. I also have the impression that it is not suitable for sleeping with the window open. Radiant heat is pleasant. Body warm, air fresh and cooler. Take a look at a stove or infrared heating, the latter is quite affordable.

I also find this argument about it being too warm really outdated. Don’t you ever go on vacation to warm places? Can’t you all sleep there? Do people in Africa suffer from insomnia? It’s all just a matter of habit. Then you just use a very thin blanket or only a sheet and short or no pajamas, and it’s fine again. We actually feel it’s colder in the bedroom when the door stays closed all day. But since it’s open at night anyway because of the child, the difference went away pretty quickly.

Why must the door be open because of the child?

Well, the rooms don't have thermal doors sealing them off. The heat still distributes within the thermal envelope. The mildew stains rather indicate processing errors with the ETICS.

We do have underfloor heating in the children's room and bedroom, in the children's room rather low, and in the bedroom running at a very low level.

The floor is not cold, and with the window open, there is still pleasantly cool air at the moment.

Haha, that question can almost only come from someone who doesn’t have children ^^ Well, because the child might wake up and scream and then you hear it earlier. Or because the child wakes up and wants to come into the bedroom, but can’t open the door by themselves yet. There are definitely reasons for that ;)

With underfloor heating, you can also turn the room off completely. Of course, it doesn’t get warm quickly if you want it to, but in the bedroom, that’s not necessary. You said that yourself. Cooling down individual rooms in the house is also counterproductive.

A radiator in a heating system designed for underfloor heating, on the other hand, causes additional problems. Either it has to be huge to operate with the same supply temperatures, or you add a second heating circuit to the system with the usual higher temperatures for radiators. But that means more hydraulics in the heating cabinet, more controls, and of course more losses simply because the heating water must be heated twice as warm as usual for underfloor heating.

Just turn it down to frost protection. Problem solved.

Exactly... if you want ERR and it works, then it’s also possible.

Then I would have the plumber/heating technician come and take another look.
