Regarding the stairs, we will be at the stair builder next week because we are removing the trade and awarding it ourselves.
Please say that is supposed to be a joke. The box where you found this thought saying "Things you never do" is there for a reason!
How do I find out how high the story height will be then?
You don't. Stay out of it. The stairs are to be planned by the architect (including detailed planning!!!), and hopefully that is someone without quotation marks. If a general contractor (GC) is involved, the stairs belong in their scope of work, and if necessary, a mutually agreed stair builder should be commissioned as their subcontractor. You N-E-V-E-R award stairs separately in a GC house, Mrs. Sophie!
I think I even read in this forum that one should preferably not plan according to the old furniture.
I wanted to avoid incorporating old burdens into the house layout as much as possible.
At the very least, only a fool plans their house around furniture that will only have four years of remaining useful life there. Most first-time homebuilders come from apartment buildings with floors – a change that very rarely happens without changing furniture purchasing behavior. Therefore, previous habits should not be extrapolated into the future.
What bothers me the most is still the access to the utility room through the kitchen or living areas.
Not me for five pennies, I tend to see that as practical.
