Oops… I unfortunately didn't adjust the stairs. At least it shows that a straight staircase in landscape format doesn't exactly contribute to the design process ;)
Provisionally corrected :D

Where exactly is it now so problematic that the floor plan is no longer any good? Just the bed? As a tip, I would suggest swapping the bathroom with the bedroom and see what that brings. The adjustment of the windows is always the last thing for me. That can sometimes be tricky, but the previous views in my opinion didn’t deserve any prizes, so holding on to them is completely incomprehensible to me. I see the biggest drawback of this floor plan rather in the not very cozy living room and the lack of functional rooms like a pantry and utility room. Squeezing all that into the 10 sqm utility room makes it the most visited and most cramped room in the whole house. On top of that, it’s supposed to serve as an airlock – that’s almost funny. I find it hard to give useful tips here because the wishes are very specific. The flat roof dormer was set as a must-have and therefore dominates the entire upper floor including the staircase location, dressing area location, lack of utility room, and children’s room location, which then affects the entire ground floor as well. Tampering with this quickly leads to making things worse, since the whole thing is tightly sewn together because of the staircase. If you are still dissatisfied, there’s not much left but to start completely over. That could be a relief if you’re not already too stuck. The plot and building regulations offer many possibilities. However, that probably also requires flexibility regarding your specifications.

I rather meant that in the eyes of the "professionals" it is no good here. For me it "works," but I am just not enough of an expert and gladly rely on the opinions here, especially yours or those of and many others here. The main problem for me is the bedroom. We can try swapping it with the bathroom. At first, we had the reading window on the gable side. That way there were two normal children’s rooms and a bedroom without niches, and the children’s rooms each had half of the dormer. Maybe we should go back to that. Or start completely new. But then I would basically plan 10 sqm smaller and no straight staircase. My only wish would actually be such a (damned) nesting box in the pitched roof. I have fixated on that. But with that, you cannot find an original floor plan.

Exactly, we see the staircase as too dominant and restrictive, so that the living room, kitchen, and bedroom are not satisfactory.
It wouldn't be worth it to me.

I was already there... but the house footprint with the dimensions hardly offers any possibilities.

Then please tell us why! What exactly is nesting box about it? Why do you have to sit in this bay? Please tell us so we can understand it.

Sorry, I didn't catch that. What is the reading window about? Where is it? I thought you had the "nesting box" as a reading nook? How important is this corner arrangement of the kitchen and living area? Not that it is bad, but is it necessary?

When you look at the Cypress Avenue house from Gussek Haus and open the office, you get a seating area there, quite simply ;) And the OP then moved the seating area into the "nest box" … something like that :)
