No, I actually don’t want to limit myself. And nothing has been ordered yet. We’re just at a point where we’re not really sure where and how to start anew. It’s not so easy when the supposedly finally fitting floor plan is no longer any good. If it weren’t for the forum, we would probably have breathed a sigh of relief that everything fits now and started. But that’s not the point when so much money is involved. We first have to sort ourselves out and consider what the basis should even be. Probably only a completely different floor plan, staircase, etc. would come into question...?
Where exactly is it now so problematic that the floor plan is no longer any good? Just the bed? As a tip, I would suggest swapping the bathroom with the bedroom and see what that brings. The adjustment of the windows is always the last thing for me. That can sometimes be tricky, but the previous views in my opinion didn’t deserve any prizes, so holding on to them is completely incomprehensible to me. I see the biggest drawback of this floor plan rather in the not very cozy living room and the lack of functional rooms like a pantry and utility room. Squeezing all that into the 10 sqm utility room makes it the most visited and most cramped room in the whole house. On top of that, it’s supposed to serve as an airlock – that’s almost funny. I find it hard to give useful tips here because the wishes are very specific. The flat roof dormer was set as a must-have and therefore dominates the entire upper floor including the staircase location, dressing area location, lack of utility room, and children’s room location, which then affects the entire ground floor as well. Tampering with this quickly leads to making things worse, since the whole thing is tightly sewn together because of the staircase. If you are still dissatisfied, there’s not much left but to start completely over. That could be a relief if you’re not already too stuck. The plot and building regulations offer many possibilities. However, that probably also requires flexibility regarding your specifications.
