I don't see that as necessary. The staircase has potential for more length; if necessary, you can move the children's room door, on the ground floor the wall can be extended into the area that is not the fireplace, and then you extend the ground floor under the bay window.

The wall towards the chimney (and I believe the stairway as well) was originally extended further forward. I think it was set back with the "hallway door option." What do you mean by extending the ground floor under the bay window? So no longer a free-hanging "nest box," but rather a bay window in the ground floor/upper floor?

It's just a question whether it would really be THE solution to basically sacrifice the one right wish or if it would just reduce the problem a bit but not completely solve it… I can't really imagine that with just a few centimeters. But then again, I have no idea.

Find a spot in the garden or elsewhere and tape out the dimensions of the entrance area of the future living room.

Including table with chairs (in use) and transition to the kitchen or living area.

Then clarify the staircase with the architect regarding length and rise run or tread depth. When I look at the section, the tread depth is particularly the critical point. Rise 15 is shown in the section and the rise therefore probably results in 18.66 cm, which is basically okay. Finished room height should be 248 cm for you, right? The tread depth is currently estimated at a staircase length of 370 cm at just under 26 cm... which in itself is sufficient, but it should be checked whether that is enough for someone.

Excerpt from my stair patterns:

Info for everyone ... The 15 rises are always represented with only 14 countable step drawings, since the 15th rise leads to the floor of the next level and no longer requires a real step.

Why do you want to create the glass element yourselves? Are you glaziers?
