Thank you first of all for all your thoughts! I'm a bit glad that not everyone finds it utterly terrible ;-)
I think we subconsciously planned the rooms more generously, which we currently find way too cramped in the apartment (namely the bathroom and the hallway). And we have 2 girls who will eventually enter puberty, but we still didn't want an extra children's bathroom. Therefore, the shower on the ground floor as a backup (which I could personally do without, but maybe we would regret it with the girls at some point). Maybe that's where the urge for this size comes from...

A bit difficult in the planning is that we haven't received exact measurements of the rooms yet (unless we somehow measure everything ourselves). The bed niches in the children's rooms would alternatively be used for the wardrobes, if the depth fits.

The office is my husband's home office space. 10 sqm is enough for him; currently, he only has a niche spot in the apartment. He's basically not spoiled. The piano is definitely supposed to go into the living room. Actually.

Whereas the bed niches in the children's rooms can also accommodate wider beds.

I don’t quite understand what you mean about the wall layout, what dazzles you? I would also prefer to avoid having my back to the garden. Also because of the glaring windows, as mentioned. As for the view of the doors and the cave character... hmm... I have no idea how I feel about that. I haven’t (at least consciously) actually paid attention to it yet. The garage would be included. The house itself was budgeted at 510k + 40k for the garage with storage part + 50k ancillary building costs. I wouldn’t mind scaling it down a bit, I just don’t know how. and : that’s a good point! We really need to take another look at that. I’ve always kind of wondered if it seems a bit short. Could lowering the ceiling height counteract that?

If I read the site plan correctly, the reading room is in the southeast. The terrace is "only" marked in the southeast on the sketch, but according to the text it is supposed to be around the corner and thus also in the southwest. Possibly, a door to the outside could be added to the kitchen with a path to the terrace. That would make it easier if the large southwest window in summer is only with the "raffstore down" because of the heat, but you still want to go out to the terrace.

The street and kitchen are located opposite the terrace facing west. The terrace is therefore planned around the corner facing south and west. The idea of a window near the kitchen is certainly worth considering, since the dining table will probably still be in the way. Yesterday we tried to incorporate your previous suggestions and to draw the furniture in the (probably not quite 1:100 scale). But of course this does not fundamentally change the floor plan at first. The bedroom with our large bed is still causing difficulties. The following things have been considered for now: - Door to utility room at the top of the plan opposite the door to the garage - middle window in the living room removed - so that the couch / TV are opposite on the stairway / exterior wall - consideration whether a small bioethanol fireplace (approx. 110 x 35 cm) between living and dining could break up the "pass-through character" - shading of reading bay - children’s room bed niches should not be a problem up to 200 x 90 beds - bedroom window at gable side corner removed, bed B200 x L210 still does not fit without standing in front of the narrow window, maybe dressing area and sleeping without wall separation? Still can’t find a suitable solution without a door being in the way...

From around 14-16, however, it becomes too narrow for the "children." From that age, the likelihood of sometimes lying two in bed increases sharply ;-) .
