I find the size appropriate. The question that arises for me is whether more has also been added to the wallet?

The architect calculates the project at approximately 420k (including the land) - excluding personal contributions. The bank gave the green light, but if necessary, I would get more (about 30k).

I think it will be too big and too expensive. For 420 grand including land, 180m² - that won't work. First plan the money - then the house.

The question is what the plot costs. 180 m2 are roughly handwaving around 360 K€. In addition, the ancillary construction costs (especially also partially high connection fees or construction cost subsidies that need to be paid). Also the plot, all work outside the house, including carport or garage, outdoor surfaces, etc. Then there is what usually comes with the upgrade (floor coverings, etc.). Roughly: house 360, plot x, upgrade 20, ancillary construction costs from 30, landscaping gardener (fences, surfaces, lawn, etc.) at least 20. Without the plot, I am already at at least 430 K€, note without kitchen. If the plot is less than 70 k€, the total is certainly 500 K€..... And depending on the soil conditions, it can certainly be even more.

Well ....

an example:

Architect A wanted 12k for the design
Architect B wanted 5k for the design
Architect C wanted 2k for the design

A cousin built a house 5 months ago. 170sqm, full basement, brick-faced, plot approx. 100k and ended up at approx. 440k, of course such a project can also cost more, but it is feasible, at least in our region?!

An acquaintance is a civil engineer (is a freelancer working for a large construction company), showed me a similar example where the builders spent approx. 600k but he said it would be possible to implement such a project for approx. 420k.

I find the entire draft sloppy. There are amateur designs that are better. With 180 sqm, I see no problem drawing something reasonable.
