The most critical bottleneck here is the quality of the planner.

An architect including two changes, whose logo the OP graciously does not show.

Why not?

The bathroom doesn’t work with anything, it’s designed for a model railway house.

Because then I have to carry all my shopping around the parked car. Exhaust fumes in the garage aren't so great either.

Thank you very much for the numerous responses! Almost everything that was mentioned were also the points that bothered us; we just couldn’t quite grasp them properly. I am really relieved that apparently it's not us who are difficult, but the plan is actually suboptimal even though it is phrased in a friendly way.

If I understand correctly, the plan should be completely discarded and restarted because so many things don’t fit that one doesn’t know where else to start, right?

Regarding the suggestion to look at existing plans, of course we did that. However, either there is no storage planned, the technical room is missing or too small, the children’s rooms are tiny, the stairs are winding, or the living, dining, and kitchen areas are designed too openly. That’s why unfortunately we have not found anything suitable so far.

I am attaching an overview plan, north is at the top of the plan, our property is Planstraße L No. 48. As mentioned, the requirements of the development plan are not interpreted this way. Recently, a two-story house with a different roof pitch was approved without problems.

And how should it proceed from here? I had asked in which stage of the contract you are. This planner cannot do it better!

As mentioned, the whole thing does not run under HOAI, the contract is signed, and I’m afraid there won’t be much to change. We will definitely see what comes out of the conversation, still hoping that the architect had his student assistant, who is also attending the appointment, do the drawings and that something more meaningful will come from that.

Attached is the part of the contract that concerns the service.

If none of this works out, we will probably have to go directly to the companies; we can’t afford another failed attempt.

The greatest thanks – and also the most helpful for the readers – are answered follow-up questions (which are still missing).

Unfortunately, it is simply something that looks like construction plans, but even experienced plan readers cannot recognize a solved task in it. Neither can you see a well-functioning design in itself, nor can one deduce the framework conditions of the property and your further requirements and wishes from it. That's why I asked, absolutely seriously, what the architect does professionally (and the follow-up question about what was meant by the on-site meeting).
And yes, I actually found no starting point for constructive improvement suggestions (but rather a strong impression that the design is not worth such consideration or that the planner would probably not understand them).

Haha, "going directly to the companies" would probably be exactly the next failed attempt. I gladly recommend studying my (external, hence the quotation marks) house construction schedule: "A house construction schedule, also for you: the phase model of the HOAI!". Here in the forum, the term "Zeichenknecht" leads to insights as to why little rescue can be hoped for from the inclusive planners of the general contractors either.
