The lite version of the ubiquiti access points work with a proprietary, included injector and should be completely sufficient for your purpose. Setting up additional routers is a makeshift solution. It looks awful and is technically at best satisfactory. Turn off Wi-Fi on the Fritte, use 1-3 of the ubiquiti units, and you have an excellent solution reaching every corner of your house/garden.

Hello,
thank you very much for your advice. The Ubiquiti access points will then be wired from the switch, right?
How is the radiation exposure in the house with 3 access points?

What do you mean by lite version?

Best regards, Barossi

Do the ubiquiti access points still work satisfactorily even if they are not hanging from the ceiling but mounted on the room wall? What is the "directional pattern" like in that case?

Hello,

in order to cover one side of the house (kitchen, living room) with the FritzBox (also to make phone calls via DECT), it would be sensible to relocate the FritzBox spatially. For this, about 5-7m of Cat cable would need to be laid from the fiber optic splitter to the FritzBox.

Can it still work well with the 5-7m piece of LAN cable?

Best regards, Barossi

You can also easily use 50m of cable. Because of DECT you don't have to worry, the range is significantly higher than with WLAN. So unless you happen to own a palace, you should be able to make calls throughout the house regardless of the location of the Fritzbox. The ubiquiti APs should also work well hanging on a wall.

The ubiquiti parts are made for wall mounting. I have never seen them on the ceiling.
