Ok, so that means each partner has to put the same amount into joint accounts?? One will definitely end up richer in the end

No. Why. At the moment I still pack 5 on, she 2. When [Pension] comes, it will naturally be a bit less for me.

You do realize that such a constellation as a couple has no lasting future?
A career person with a need for recognition and a self-confident minimalist who is satisfied with little. That doesn’t work together. Has nothing to do with accounts.

It goes the way Karsten describes. The number of accounts doesn’t matter. You talk and agree. And if one is the Maldives type and the other is the Bavarian Forest type, you either travel separately or separate altogether – if traveling for life should be important, a shared preference here is the basis for a relationship. Someone who wants to fly on vacation to exotic places every year (and then spends half the time in the hotel, astonishingly) would be dismissed by me anyway. Some discussions just don’t happen.

We have separate accounts because we do not need a joint one.
[Haushaltsgeld (Einkaufen usw.)] comes from me in cash monthly into the money box. She pays for the shopping she does from this. Shopping that I do is paid from my account (all household-related).
When it comes to vacation, we sit down together, discuss, and set a framework.
I pay the main part and she a smaller contribution. But this is not determined by calculator percentage based on income or anything like that, but by how much she can/wants at the moment.
I am in a partnership and therefore my partner should also benefit from my financial possibilities. It would be totally stupid to forgo things (like vacation, for example) because the financially weaker partner could not afford it (in that form).
Since we do not have children and also share household tasks, all the usual arguments like "keeping the back free etc." do not apply to us. Rather, it is simply the conscious decision to use the available resources together, regardless of how the accounts are divided.
Certainly, we are a special case, also regarding income.

With us, there are no children and no holding space in the back.

2x similar salary

Joint account for all fixed costs is evenly funded by both via standing orders.

Joint household money is thrown into the pot 50/50 every month.

And that's it. If we want to order something, it's often: "Feel like this or that today, my treat." Same when eating out. We have similar views on vacations: quite overrated.

The ordering and return orgies that sometimes take place here leave me relaxed.

Problems? Nope.
