I would remove the storage room on the upper floor in favor of a larger bathroom.

Otherwise, I recognize myself in the thread. You want to fit too much into too little square meters. Something always suffers.
That's why we got rid of the office and will have a laptop table in the bedroom in the future. Otherwise, I can also work from the dining table. A larger living area and a proper wardrobe were more important to me.

Otherwise, try searching for floor plans with an office. My husband did show me some pretty good ones. But it would only work if you reduce the kitchen size. It then depends on the kitchen layout. If you plan a kitchen unit with an island in front, you need a kitchen that is not too deep.

The office really doesn’t look nice like this. You could create a cloakroom area to the left inside the front door and place the guest WC behind it in the corner. Then the office entrance won’t be so awkward, and a nice niche for a filing cabinet will even be created.

Good in theory, but I don’t think the measurements will work out. How many meters do you have from the front door to the stairs? Moving the stairs further [nach planoben] is not possible, as the living room would then become too small again.

Yes, the office can simply be tiny on the ground floor... no matter where it is placed. Just put it on the upper floor, there would be enough space.

Then I think the office is too small to furnish..

I have been following your thread from the beginning and see myself exactly where you were..

Did you redesign your bedroom for the laptop table?

I wanted the study/work area on the ground floor because during the "home schooling" period I also did the tasks with my little one and then went to the kitchen in between from time to time. For example, after eating, to check something for the child, or to quickly get a coffee.. But obviously, I either have to make the house bigger or, as you already said, find some compromise.

But for example, I also didn’t think your idea from yesterday with the table in the staircase niche was bad. I told her yesterday that I would also do something like that if the office on the ground floor doesn’t fit. She wrote to me that I will get that today.

And here they are already..

I find it much better!

Only on the upper floor would I swap the bathroom with the walk-in closet and remove the window in the middle of the children's rooms so that the ratio of the room sizes becomes a bit more harmonious..
