Sure, right, the room will of course expand at least by the size of the staircase. Well, somehow this design has really won me over, it immediately feels complete. The pantry, which is only noticed at second glance, made the joy perfect. :)

Where do your guests sleep? The fourth room is needed, right? Basically, there is air space or a room on the upper floor... What do you think?

Thank you for asking & regarding the room: 3 children's rooms and a bathroom are sufficient for us for now. There is enough space to sleep, among other places, in the main house.

Small excursion on the topic of light. How to bring it into dark rooms. Just for inspiration... I would actually install a satin-finished interior pane with you, a transom, e.g. above a door and/or three daylight surface luminaires in the upstairs hallway. Diffusely, they are also suitable for the wall and then look as if they were windows.

I also got an idea after I found a staircase back there in the hallway completely inappropriate. The chill lounge then also suffers in size, and the utility room would no longer be so generous. I will tinker with it again and show it right away.

Söööö,
here is another concept.
The longer you work on it, the clearer the designs become :)
The parent area remains.
Stairs moved, but the open space is now clearer and larger. As a division, the pantry is placed centrally as a box.
The kitchen is a placeholder. The island measures 3.20 (just as a reference, I somehow can’t save measurements). The table is also 2.20.
The stairs are scaled to 4 meters. They might possibly be shorter. The program can’t do dormer windows. Or I can’t. I have set the knee wall to one meter for a 45-degree roof pitch. You can see the 2-meter line.
Bathrooms are stacked. Toilets are almost near the downpipe. Living corridor without windows, but with daylight lamps. Children’s corridor can be separated. Home office or PC corner. If the further roof structure should be developed, then via a cross staircase on the north wall.
I have not considered the 2.30 on the ground floor, i.e., the roof structure.
Overall I see advantages: large open space, wardrobe and airlock in the utility room, nearby the dressing room with the parent area. Clear lines. Children’s wing can be separated. Bathrooms stacked, living corridor...
Disadvantages: stairs possibly too close to the front door (160 cm width).

Thank you very much. Through my own research, you always find something now and then, but there were 2-3 things included that I had not fully considered at all. Of course, not everything works for the barn, but it's very good to know - and who knows...
