if the wall is moved in by 60 cm, windows with 2.2 m can be installed. Then the transom windows are not necessary.

If you want, I can draw a kitchen for you. But I need some measurements and the approximate room height.

Thanks - an important point: You took the wrong side of the section for your drawing; that is the north side of the barn.

The south side is opposite. Here in the drawing the roof supports have already been removed. And actually it should ultimately be such that recessing the wall by x cm (+-60cm) brings it so far inward that there is no slope in the ground floor anymore. The new wall thus directly adjoins the ceiling of the upper floor (approx. 285 cm from floor to ceiling).

Unfortunately, the section is not up to date. Sorry.

That is very kind and I gladly accept that. Great. The only thing is that the current suggestion from ypg is that the kitchen is on another side. Nevertheless, I will gladly give you the measurements and you can think about whether you want to do it or wait – something like that is always nice as inspiration. In any case, a big thank you for the good intentions. :)

A - 662 cm
B - 750 cm
C - 427 cm

But then you really don't need a skylight.

I think we are not yet at the kitchen topic ;)
Damn, I guess I overplayed my hand. I had the inspiring idea to make one room facing east and then discovered that there is no exterior wall there.
I like the dormer idea from .
I will still show the overplayed interim result... upstairs the two parallel-running rooms are of course not at all to my taste, but otherwise one room would have become too small.

I can't save anything here in between. If I delete something and overwrite (paint over :)), then it is gone too. If I take out my real program, it would be a week's work.
It is supposed to be just for inspiration anyway – the ground floor height combined with the lower roof pitch, I didn't pay attention to that anyway.

I now believe that you actually have to move the stairs to the back so that you can line up the rooms like pearls. However, I see here:

No possibility for access to the room on the right side of the plan, since there would be the obstacle "support beam" there, or am I mistaken?

So, my desperate act (I have to point out that I estimated a roof pitch of about 35 degrees, as I oriented myself on your dashed line)
Basically everything included: bigger living room, open-plan kitchen, space for hallway cabinet and sideboards, access to the utility room near the dressing room, bathroom with window, toilet with window, spacious bedroom.
Modern and stylish at the same time. It really pains me to destroy this thing :(

The desperate act can be seen here:
