Are you talking to me? There will be no rear rooms.

I understand. Then there would be space for a ping-pong table, playroom, or similar – maybe I/we will come up with something. That's just how it is.

I still have questions about the lighting situation in the house and your opinion on it. I can easily imagine room layouts, pathways, and processes, but I have difficulty with lighting and such. No reason to want to change anything in the floor plan, because I like everything quite well & some things are just the way they are. Hallways and chill-out areas are also not so "light-important"....

(A) How dark do you think the lighting situation will be on the ground floor in the couch area at the back, can this be estimated or maybe compared somehow?

(A) How dark will the hallway on the upper floor behind the rooms be if we add a dormer with one or two windows – are the corners very dark?

(C) And one more question about the staircase, which could partly affect lighting as well (without currently considering the costs): Would it theoretically be possible to extend this staircase by one floor to access an attic? This way you could bring in additional light (for example through a double casement window into the upper floor). Would something like this even be technically feasible (staircase + light from there)?

Thank you very much if someone would like to comment on this.

Thank you very much for the visualization. I see the difference in the drawing. Are there budgetary or other differences that are striking with both dormers? Would you recommend building a continuous dormer for the upper floor or rather two dormers separated for the children's rooms and bathroom – and thus only work with double casement windows over the hallway? PS: sorry for asking so directly for an answer – I don’t want to ask too much & also understand if there’s no time or desire for it. This also applies to the use of ypg. Many thanks to everyone! :)

The dormer with the sloped roof blends more harmoniously into the roof and also drains the water better. In my opinion, a dormer would look quite good on the huge roof. That would also significantly improve the cost-benefit calculation. Perhaps the architect should visualize that. It could also be done with Photoshop by yourself.

You mean yours from #1 now? Then I actually don’t need to continue?
