You should continue planning there. I really like what you have so far.

Concept is good.

Wow! I’m impressed and once again think: this works and even more... looks great, very harmonious at the top and also at the bottom. I will take a (another) close look at it
and write something about it tomorrow. It is such that I really like a lot of things and will gladly write down tomorrow what I like about them.

What just caught my eye in the upper floor, among other things regarding the light:
Would it be conceivable to access Bien-Zenker differently, place a hallway extension to the south and bring even more light inside through a second double French window or dormer window – would that work?

Sure, that becomes a bit much hallway, but if necessary, I’d just put a cross trainer there. Or just look out of the window now and then. Or maybe a small desk with a view of the garden.

I think so too. It's already really good - I'm still amazed at how this entire thread has developed. I'm not the only one feeling this way, my wife also finds it just as impressive.

I’m glad if it is well received.
About the bathroom: I also had it like that at first, but I found it disproportionately large, dance floors as bathrooms are not exactly cozy and inviting, but rather look like washing halls.
And I kind of fell in love with the work niche ;) You also have to make sure that the beam wall on the right side is somehow staged. Maybe the beam remains open and doesn’t become a wall, right?

What else needs to be done
I think could take care of the kitchen, or

Oh yes, and then there’s the fireplace question (I knew I forgot something :()

I took a look around our area yesterday. I also saw quite a few old farmhouses where the roof had been remodeled. They mostly added individual dormers. I would shift the double casement window or the dormer above the stairs slightly to the east. Then center the dormers exactly so that the distances and sizes are equal.

Coordinate with the location of the windows on the ground floor?

Your suggestion with the slightly larger hallway could also work.

Haha, the skylights are of course just placeholders now, the windows on the ground floor as well. That can certainly be adjusted easily.
