Ok, great. I also like the parent area ;) The split level will change the open-plan living area again.That's what I mean here. :) I think that's really great. Maybe you'll think of something else that you consider "problematic" or can imagine better, but as far as I've thought about it now, I think it's very good.
(A) How dark do you think the lighting situation will be in the living room area at the back on the ground floor, can this be estimated or maybe somehow compared?
Perfect is different. White walls help there. I would make a TV corner there anyway, it doesn’t need that much light. Compromises!
(A) How dark will the hallway upstairs behind the rooms be, if we work with one or two windows in a dormer there - are the corners very dark?
As before. Window area helps, hence my idea with the bay window. There you can install tall windows.
(C) And one more question about the stairs, which could also partly affect the lighting (and without currently considering the costs): Is it theoretically possible to extend this staircase by one floor to access an attic? This way more light (for example through a double casement window into the upper floor) could be brought in. Would something like this even be technically feasible (stairs + light from there)?
Double casement window with light shaft also works without stairs. It’s a matter of cost. I have 4 double casement windows at the ridge electrically openable. They bring light down to the ground floor. Before the renovation even down to the basement. :cool:
