Electricity consumption at home, what is your consumption?

Nevertheless, I am somewhat surprised at the – in my eyes – high energy consumption. Our energy costs (heating plus hot water) over a year amount to about €50/month and we still have an oil burner that is about 20 years old. Okay, we use the wood stove a lot for heating...

That already sounds different :)

Yes, that was my problem the last few days. I turned on the underfloor heating on 12.12. and am now playing around a bit with the right comfort temperature. Here is the consumption from 12.12. The heating was turned on around 9 a.m. You can see that quite well. Yesterday, a total house consumption including heating of 19.7 kW was recorded with the upper and lower floors at 20-20.5 degrees. Currently, it's 22.3 degrees and we will probably end up at 26 kW at midnight. The next 3-4 days there will also be sun again / finally.

Our house was just completed. According to Stiebel Eltron, we should not take the consumption in the first year as a reference and only look from the second year onward (keyword drying heating).
I am not familiar with oil; I never had a chimney either. Therefore, I cannot provide any reference values. In our old house with gas heating (built in 1994), we had annual gas costs of approximately €1000.
But it's pointless to compare these things. It depends on a hundred factors. How warm you like it, how well the house is insulated, how large the area is...

It is simply a myth that heat pumps are economical. An acquaintance has a brine system and 140m2 heating surface but pays 70 euros monthly for heating costs. He would have been much better off with gas. After 5 years, it was still leaking and he received a bill for 3000 euros.

I always say, if possible, go for gas. Heat pumps are very sensitive and otherwise massive power guzzlers.

Although the consumption mentioned here is quite decent. From November to March, 90% of the heating energy is used. There can also be months with heating costs of 200 euros.

In December, we average 20 kWh per day and it was damn cold. Household needs about another 10 kWh extra.

Thanks to cheap electricity tariffs and lots of bonuses, it is still cheaper than gas or similar. Next year there will be a 500 euro bonus, so electricity is almost free :D
