Well, nothing special is subjective... Not everything had to run now, but if a recording is started, it has to be saved somewhere. I’m not in favor of turning the VMs on and off, after all, it’s server hardware designed for 24/7 operation. And yes, sure, the consumption is intense or exaggerated, I find it okay, I pay for it and it doesn’t bother me. I also don’t get upset about people who spend around €2,500 a year on smoking (at about one pack a day). The consumption will tend to increase even more when the pool with heating and the saunas go into operation next year.If you can live with it, then it’s okay. Still, you have power guzzlers somewhere to generate this electricity consumption. 4,500 kWh for "technology" per year? And not even special technology. 12 kWh per day just for servers and accessories is intense. If everything runs 24/7 (and, for example, the data server, TV server, the VMs, and others shouldn’t do that – or are you all online 24/7?), that’s over 500W continuous power. Crazy! And even crazier is what you consume for the rest – 6,500 kWh. Sorry, but I just want to understand how someone can waste so much electricity.
