Then we are probably Danube neighbors :)
Here also just fog for 2 weeks...

I also don’t know how you can heat with just a fireplace. When the fireplace runs for 6 hours here, the temperature only rises by about 0.8°. The fireplace stands in the middle and also distributes the heat to the attic via the stairwell. But you definitely can’t warm the basement with a fireplace on the ground floor :)

The sun actually heats significantly stronger. When it’s sunny, all the blinds are up, then there are about +2° more in the whole house.

Turn on the internet, the temperature in the bedroom should be 18 degrees. In theory. In practice, everyone has a different comfort temperature. For me, 20 degrees in the bedroom is enough. The kids don’t complain either. Yes, the basement is at 18.9 degrees, it is fully insulated and the basement floor feels (strangely) pleasant even when the heating is off. It doesn’t get colder there. Last winter, with 0 degrees outside, it was still 18 degrees there. On the ground floor (which is an open 55 sqm living, kitchen, dining area) it is currently 22.5 degrees.

Yes, you’re right about that. It’s a complete fiasco with photovoltaics. Tomorrow will be a good day.

You know the staircase is open and the chimney runs straight up in the middle.
Now that there’s no sun, we stoke the fire from 5:30 am to 9 pm, but you have to be up for that.

:) You bet. I've decided to clean it only every two weeks or when I feel like having a flame show.
