You don't have to store everything you own in the entrance. Only the things you need more often. For example, the winter coat is removed from there in summer.

These are already the things reduced to seasons But you still have a few jackets, depending on the temperature, and open and closed shoes... My husband also needs extra work shoes (also depending on the weather, so several pairs) and sometimes a jacket.

[in white matte or light wood, depending on what suits you... with Pax you get great storage space – it’s fun to buy shoes again. maybe also put a mirror on the door of the middle cabinets. You can also have a closed bench with drawers underneath on one side and then hang a 2-meter-high panel covered with fabric on the wall with open hooks. Country style, retro, or modern... anything goes.]

If you are afraid that it might look too massive, you can make the cabinets ceiling-high. That then looks more like a wall and therefore quite "normal". In my opinion, the hallway is too wide to simply furnish along the side. I would somehow incorporate a "zig zag" or an interruption. Possibly place two small wooden stools in the way. That breaks up the perspective and the wide hallway with a view of the kitchen and makes everything appear larger.

Interesting. I would have planned the cupboards to be as low as possible because I thought they would feel less overwhelming that way. I’ll have to take a look and compare.
