If you have a back door through the utility room, you go in there with dirty feet. This door also has a handle to open without a key and without a doorbell. Children should basically go through there. Adults too. Only the postman and important visitors, who preferably leave again soon, take the front door. People go through the back. So. Zero problem with the stairs down there. Karsten

our staircase also begins at the door, based on current experience I would look for a different solution today, so the vacuum cleaner is ready to hand under the stairs.

Meanwhile, the stroller also rolls through the area and the wheels are hard to wipe off, so even more dirt in the "transit zone"

Maybe someday we will build a glazed vestibule in front of the front door but you shouldn't think about cost/benefit then

Our bed is in a 50cm knee wall, pushed forward to about 80 to 90 cm. That means there is about 40cm of space behind the headboard for storage. You can’t sit upright, you just have to read in the living room but you don’t hit your head when getting up.

Don't make it so complicated for yourselves. There are now vacuum robots for that. Programmed to vacuum the entire hallway at least once a day, and then you can walk barefoot to and from the stairs.

Stairs down... Dressing room aside... what do you think now of my "masterful" drawing of a proposal..

Yes, the self-painted one... I will only send something to the architect again when it fits.. otherwise she will think I'm stupid... changing every five minutes... Are there any more suggestions for improvement..
