Do you have so many guests during the year that you need the guest room? Without the guest room, you would have more space both for eating and for living

Guest room is just a name. The extra is also important to me. To retreat. Listen to music, watch something different on TV than her, take a nap, who knows what else. Much is a matter of taste. I don’t want to impose my guest room on the questioner. If she wants a pantry, you pay the price, then there is less kitchen or hallway. It’s the same with the guest WC, which I would never put in the middle. Toilets have windows... others see it differently. Same with open kitchen. I never. She: yes. 4 floor-to-ceiling doors. Me: one is enough. She: I want 4. For the specifications list of the topic starter, the concept is good. The house works. There is always something. So: build it. Karsten

You do know that with underfloor heating it still gets warm everywhere? And a wardrobe with 60 cm depth offers you more than the little room with 95. But right now you're in the "I defend everything" mode. I understand, I was like that once too. Let what you’ve been told in 3 threads now sink in.

So I don’t want to defend myself... but explain what my thoughts are... @ nordlys Yes, that’s the idea with the guest room... and we live in the North, our two families are from the South... that’s why there are "more" guests... I am aware of the underfloor heating yes... I think we simply won’t install any...

It is important that we as outsiders hear and take note of the thoughts and reasons behind a desired feature (e.g. pantry). It does not matter whether we want something like that. Personally, I find a pantry indispensable if there is no basement in the house. Groceries do not belong in the utility room. This includes not only food but everything (toilet paper, wine, etc.). My next house will definitely have a pantry....
