Your arguments are absolutely conclusive, . Often one is on the bottom and the other on top. That is completely OK as well.

Absolutely, I see all that as a thought-provoking idea and don't need any pats on the back. Anyone who sets limits during brainstorming or feels attacked hasn't understood its value. I am truly grateful for every thought and at the same time equipped with sufficient self-confidence and stubbornness of age to decide what suits me best. I really appreciate every reaction and think about it!
It is indeed the case that we like to do our own thing and therefore often sit in the same apartment but still with the necessary safety distance... close enough to immediately hear the words: "Coffee is ready." Only with "Please take out the trash," the acoustics fail.
Honestly, I would like both, the large gallery with a TV relaxation corner and reading lounge AND a huge room downstairs. It is therefore difficult for me... I fear I am spoiled.
Thank you!

I think that for 2 people who harmonize and don’t have to worry about money, a gallery is not a waste. Especially in this situation, you can afford “impractical” playthings, whether it is the open transition from bedroom to bathroom or, as here, a gallery with a view. Now you have the inspiration and peace to enjoy it.

No one carries anyone up the stairs. So again, the elevator. Do you want to give up quality of life or feeling as long as there are technical solutions? My experience is: no changes as long as it somehow works. Maybe someday you’ll need help and aids, and the bedroom and bathroom should fit then. No compromises. If you think about staff (a caregiver is not uncommon), then why not have the guest room with a bathroom in an annex? Living space planned so that a bedroom can be separated that is suitable for a walker? In the pantry, there are connections so that it can be turned into a senior-friendly bathroom with a walker and caregiver. There are also spry seniors. I had a landlady who was physically and mentally fit almost until the end. At 90, she would not have thought to restrict herself because of a staircase.

Yes absolutely, we see it the same way and maybe it was phrased a bit too casually. Personnel was more of a mediocre joke from me, I didn’t even think of caregiver in this context. You just want to consider and have all points ready in the best possible way and that makes it difficult. I like, for example, a straight staircase in the room and the "underlying idea" is actually also a bit that maybe once a little trolley has to go up there, since we have decided to subordinate some things to the lake view and therefore get up there as long as possible. Here I completely agree with you. Your idea of the outsourced guest area I had from the beginning but have to deal with slight opposition (who invented this equality anyway?). It really is a good suggestion that I will bring up again, that visitors/help/etc. people should not reduce the own living space as they are rather rarely there. That was my initial idea and I had 120 sqm of living space for that. Hm..... nothing is built yet.... time to go into renewed exchange of opinions.

Then the review round should also be over... too late, I would say... or are you masochistically inclined?

So .. I also have an opinion ... I would spontaneously:

[*]Upper floor, top plan horizontal .. living area with TV and lake view
[*]Upper floor, bottom right plan ... open space
[*]Upper floor, rest guest / bathroom
[*]Stairs to upper floor opposite, currently changed direction towards top plan relatively directly into living/TV area
[*]Ground floor, top plan horizontal - bathroom / dressing room / sleeping
[*]Ground floor: right/bottom plan .... kitchen / dining
[*]Ground floor, left plan utility room/guest WC/wardrobe

What I really don’t like in the current plan:

    [*]Forced access garage/utility room/kitchen
[*]Kitchen planning ... position of refrigerator in relation to work zone is a no-go ... simply no work triangle
[*]Guest area ground floor currently not suitable for shared sleeping area
[*]Stair direction down plan with little distance to wall down plan ... hm ... if the great view is in the east, then you should go upstairs ... towards the great view.
