I decided on the brine water heat pump. I am fascinated by the technology of supplying heating from the almost always relatively warm earth or using the cool ground in summer for passive cooling. Even though it is probably on average a bit more expensive than an air-water heat pump. But for that, I also don't have an unnecessary outdoor unit.

The question is how well does it cool? It is not designed for that. The argument about the outdoor unit is a point. Do you save on ancillary costs compared to an air-water heat pump?

A brine-to-water heat pump has on average always a higher COP (also annual performance factor) compared to an air-to-water heat pump because the heat source in winter does not drop to very low sub-zero temperatures.

Yes, how good the passive cooling of the brine heat pump is, that was also my question. Well, it certainly cannot be compared to an air conditioner that transports cold air outside and also positively influences air humidity for the human perception of heat. But if you can keep the solid house cooler with 20 °C cooled screed than without passive cooling, I think that already makes a difference to prevent the solid house from overheating completely in the high summer.

Have you already clarified whether you are allowed to use a geothermal heat pump? In some places, geothermal energy is not permitted.

Regularly in water protection areas.
For example, with me. Although supposedly a special permit might be possible.

No problem for us. If anything, I would prefer one with deep drilling and not one with collectors.
